I frequently use nature as an inspiration, things I see out my window, walks in the garden or glen, places I've been or pictures I've seen. For a number of years I've had a great picture of this turtle swimming against an incredible blue and amethyst water backdrop on one side and a great reef wall on the other. One day while contemplating again this wonderful picture, I began to wonder if I could "paint " with my beads- render by color what was in the picture. Sort of an impressionistic view of this turtle swimming. The colors in the necklace would then be asymmetrical, an uncharted territory for me. I selected my new fringe style as a good way to express variety and dimension. |
